Bayside Teacher Nominated For Nationwide Public Educators Award
Voters have until next week to choose their favorite teacher, and three educators will be chosen for the Crystal Apple Award.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — An elementary school teacher in Bayside was nominated for an award that recognizes public school educators across the country.
Su Hyun Song from P.S. 390Q, The CIVIC School of Bayside Hills, was nominated for a Crystal Apple Award, joining nine other finalists to win the recognition given by the educational supplies company School Specialty. Voters will have until Tuesday, May 2, to choose their favorite teacher.
"Thank you to all of my wonderful students, parents, and colleagues for helping me grow as an educator," Song said in her nomination video. "Without the support of each and every one of you, I would not have made it this far."

The three finalists with the most votes will be the 2023 winners, who will be announced on Teacher Appreciation Day on May 9.
The winners will receive a $500 gift card to the School Specialty store to purchase supplies for their classroom, as well as a trophy. The school would also receive $250 in supplies.
