Baysider Accused Of Setting His Condo Ablaze In Fire That Hurt 7: NYPD
The resident cuffed on charges of setting his unit ablaze has been accused of damaging Bay Club property in the past, police said.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A Bayside man with a history of property damage stands accused of setting his luxury condo ablaze in a fire that hurt seven people, according to police.
Christopher McDonough, 39, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and harassment at The Bay Club Monday about 2 a.m., a couple hours after flames erupted at the luxury apartment complex injuring seven people, officials said.
That morning, a security supervisor at the apartment complex saw McDonough throwing glass bottles from an apartment window to the sidewalk below, police said.

After investigating the situation, officials discovered that McDonough lives in the 15th-story unit where the fire started, according to the NYPD. He was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, officials said.
This isn't the first time that The Bay Club resident has been cuffed on charges that he damaged the condo complex, police said.

On June 1, about a month before the blaze, McDonough was hit with criminal mischief charges in connection with smashing several surveillance cameras in his building, according to the NYPD.
Police said he broke three cameras with a sledge hammer and destroyed another in the mail room by repeatedly punching it.
