Ben's Deli At Bay Terrace Closes For One Day Amid Permit Issues

Customers can expect to come back into Ben's Deli on Thursday afternoon, according to an employee.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — City officials ordered a beloved family-owned restaurant and delicatessen in Bay Terrace to close its doors after finding one of their permits was expired, an employee at the eatery told Patch.

Still, customers can expect to come back into Ben's Deli on Thursday afternoon.

Officials visited the delicatessen on Wednesday afternoon and found the restaurant's Health and Mental Hygiene permit had expired, ordering owners to shut down until the document was renewed.

A worker at Ben's Deli, located at 211-37 26th Ave. in Bay Terrace, confirmed that the issue was readily solved, and employees were expected to come back to work on Thursday afternoon.

Ben's Deli has five other locations nationwide, including one in Boca Raton, Florida, and four others in New York State.
