CB 11 to Host Hearing on Traffic at Scobee Diner Site

Board will discuss Little Neck diner site during June 10 meeting.

Community Board 11 will hold a hearing on June 10 to discuss traffic at the former Scobee Diner site in Little Neck.

Susan Seinfeld, CB 11’s district manager, said the board would hold a second meeting on a driveway at the former diner site, which is split up between three different zoning districts.

“There’s a concern about cars going in and out of two different driveways and cars coming out onto Northern Boulevard and making a left,” Seinfeld said. “It’s caused a lot of discussion.”

In addition, a bus stop in front of the diner might need to be moved slightly, Seinfeld said.

The Scobee Diner closed its doors permanently in November 2010.

CB 11 has received an application to replace the Scobee Diner with a two-story building that would house a bank and another retail store on its first floor and a dentist’s office on the second floor.
