Teen Sexually Assaulted In Central Park, NYPD Says

CENTRAL PARK, NYC — A person of interest is in custody after a girl was sexually assaulted in Central Park, police said.

The attack happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday near 109-01 East Drive, steps from the Gottesman Rink in Central Park, police said.

The teen was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said, and authorities have not indicated whether she knew her attacker.

Police said a man was taken into custody, though charges were still pending Monday and his identity had not been released as the NYPD continued to investigate.
