CVS Pharmacy In College Point To Shutter In Spring

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — CVS Pharmacy announced it will close its location in College Point this spring.

The pharmacy located at 132-22 14th Avenue will shutter on April 5, 2023, according to a company spokesperson.

All prescriptions will be transferred to the nearby CVS Pharmacy at 153-01 10th Avenue in Whitestone, but customers can choose to fill their prescriptions at another pharmacy.

All employees are being "offered comparable roles within the company," according to a CVS Pharmacy spokesperson.

"Maintaining access to pharmacy services in the communities we serve is an important factor we consider when making store closure decisions," the spokesperson said. "Other factors include local market dynamics, population shifts, a community’s store density, and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community."

About 40 CVS Pharmacy locations remain in Queens amid a wave of pharmacy chain closures in northern Queens. Last April, Rite Aid closed its only location in Forest Hills. A Walgreens location also closed in the neighborhood last week.
