QUEENS, NY — A passerby came across a horrifying scene Sunday morning after discovering a dead man with a bag on his head in Alley Pond Park, according to the NYPD.

It happened about 8:30 a.m. on May 15 in a part of the park near Winchester Boulevard, police said.

After an investigation, the NYPD suspects the incident to be a suicide, according to a spokesperson.

The department won't give out the man's personal information, including his age and name, the spokesperson said.

The man is the latest person to be found dead in a Queens park by a passerby: Last month, a person in Forest Park discovered the mutilated body of a local mother stuffed in a duffel bag.

Grisly details of her killing later emerged, as officials determined she'd been stabbed upwards of 50 times in the basement of her home while her teenage son was asleep upstairs.

David Bonola, who officials said had a two-year, off-and-on intimate relationship with the mother while working as her handyman, was hit with murder charges last month after confessing to repeatedly stabbing her in the midst of a fight, according to police and reports.
