Dead Man Found In Oakland Lake, Police Report

The Queens Post reported​ that the man was Khiron Anderson​, a Baysider who went missing​ last week. The NYPD did not confirm this report.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A man's body was found floating in Bayside's Oakland Lake on Thursday afternoon, the NYPD reported.

Around 12:45 p.m., police received a 911 call alerting them to a body in the lake, located in Alley Pond Park. Cops rushed to the lake, where they pulled the body of an unresponsive adult man from the water, police told Patch. He was declared dead at the scene, records show.

On Friday, the Queens Post reported that the dead man was Khiron Anderson, a 24-year-old from Bayside who has been missing since last week. The NYPD, however, did not confirm this report to Patch.

"Identification of the deceased male is pending at this time," police said in a statement.

The medical examiner will determine the man's cause of death, which remains unknown.

This is not the first time that a person was found dead in Bayside's Oakland Lake.

In 2012 a 21-year-old Queensborough Community College student committed suicide at the lake. His name was withheld to show respect for his family.
