Demolition Begins at Scobee Diner Site

Crews scheduled to begin taking down former Little Neck diner's building this week.

Demolition has begun at the former Scobee Diner site along Northern Boulevard in Little Neck.

Susan Seinfeld, district manager for Community Board 11, said demolition crews were scheduled to begin taking down the building this week at the site of the popular diner, which closed in 2010.

Plans for the Scobee locale include a two-story structure with a bank on the first floor and a dentist's office on the second floor.

At the time of its closing, numerous northeast Queens residents said they were sad to see the Scobee being shuttered.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on the plans for the site in the comments section provided below.
