Dog Café Opens For Business On Francis Lewis Boulevard
Annie's Social, located at 34-01 Francis Lewis Blvd., opened on Saturday and replaced a Subway sandwich shop.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A café catered to dog owners opened its doors over the weekend on Francis Lewis Boulevard.
Annie's Social, located at 34-01 Francis Lewis Blvd., opened up for business on Saturday, Feb. 18, serving pastries and La Colombe coffee. The eatery replaces a Subway sandwich shop.
Tom Hom, the owner of Annie's Social, said that he was inspired to open the café after creating strong bonds with other dog owners at the Little Bay Dog Run, Bayside's local dog park.

"I found a need for a place to go when the weather wasn't great," Hom told Patch. "When it's really cold, really hot, or raining, I wanted a community space to serve the area."
Hom said that dog treats will be available at the café in the future.

The eatery has a section specifically for dog owners and their furry friends, while no dogs are allowed at the front of the store to allow separation between animals and food.
The cafe is named after Hom's golden doodle.
