Former Aide Accuses George Santos Of Sexual Harassment
Derek Myers accused Santos of making sexual approaches toward him, such as touching Myers' groin and asking if he had a Grindr profile.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A former aide for George Santos says the troubled lawmaker sexually harassed him on his second day as a staff assistant in his D.C. office, according to a letter sent to the House Committee on Ethics. The former staffer, who shared the letter in full on Twitter, is requesting an investigation into the allegations.
Derek Myers accused the Republican of making sexual approaches toward him on Jan.25, such as touching Myers’ groin and asking whether he had a profile on Grindr, an LGBTQ dating app, during his time as a volunteer at the lawmaker’s office in Washington D.C.
“He proceeded to look at me and say, ‘My husband is out of town tonight if you want to come over’ and went on to tell me where the Congressman lived,” Myers recounted in the letter sent on Feb. 3.

Myers also accused the office of designating him as a “volunteer” for a period of time despite being hired as a paid staff assistant, the letter says. Myers also requested an investigation into the work he was made to do as a volunteer, alleging it was an ethical breach.
Santos' office declined to comment after a request from Patch.

The accusation comes as Santos, who won a U.S. House seat in November 2022, faces a hefty amount of claims he lied about his education, work history, and religion during his campaign.
The letter sent by Myers details how Santos called his aide “buddy” and asked him to if he would like to go out to karaoke.
Santos faces federal and local investigations, as well as increasing scrutiny as more lawmakers and constituents ask the freshman lawmaker to step down.
