Learn About Native American Oasis Oakland Lake

Alley Pond Environmental Center is hosting a forum on May 1.

A community forum on Oakland Lake will be held by in observance of Earth Week.

The forum will discuss the lake's history as an oasis for Native Americans as well as a water source for historic Flushing Village.

APEC's Educational Director Aline Euler, who will be hosting the discussion, is also going to speak to the body of water's role in the area as an urban lake.

The event will cost $8 and take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 1 at the Alley Pond Environmental Center. Those interested in participating should call 718.229.4000.
