Update: Local Street Re-named For 9/11 Hero
FDNY Lt. Peter J. Farrenkopf lived on the street that was named in his honor.
Editor's Note, 3:43p.m., June 11, 2012: Lt. Peter J. Farrenkopf died of Glioblastoma, not a respiratory infection, as was errantly noted. Patch deeply regrets the error.
Councilman Dan Halloran unveiled the sign for 9/11 hero Lt. Peter J. Farrenkopf Place, 207th Street at 26th Ave. Lt. Farrenkopf, of FDNY Marine Company died in 2009 of Glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer.
