BAYSIDE, QUEENS — More New Yorkers think Rep. George Santos should resign compared to last month, according to a new poll.
Two-thirds of residents in the state said the embattled Republican should resign from Congress, a 6 percent jump compared to last month, according to a Siena College poll.
In January, the same poll showed that over 56 percent of New Yorkers wanted him to resign. That number rose to 66 percent in February.

The poll comes as Santos faces scrutiny for a series of fabrications on his resume, misleading his constituents about where he attended college and his professional background.
“It’s not just that 72% of Democrats want him to resign, so do 63% of independents and 58% of Republicans,” said Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg.

Santos, who represents parts of Long Island and Queens, is accused of lying about his Jewish descent, working at Citibank, attending Baruch college on a volleyball scholarship, and a slew of other elements he ran on during his campaign in 2022.
Constituents from New York’s 3rd Congressional, which he represents, have not taken the issue lightly.
Over the weekend, a group of voters caravaned from Long Island to Queens as a protest against Rep. George Santos.
