Man In Custody After Shooting At NYPD Officers In College Point
Officers were responding to a report of domestic violence Sunday when the man started firing at them, NYPD officials said.
COLLEGE POINT, QUEENS — A man is in custody after firing at a group of NYPD officers responding to a report of domestic violence Sunday night in a College Point home, according to police officials and news reports.
Officers from the NYPD's 109th Precinct showed up at the 125th Street home that evening after getting a call about a domestic incident, officials said.
A man on the home's second story started shooting at them with a rifle, then headed downstairs and continued firing at the cops as they took cover, the New York Post reported.

The man eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody, police said. No one was injured.
"The officers exhibited extraordinary bravery and courage during this very dangerous incident," NYPD Chief Carlos Valdez said during a news conference Sunday.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea identified the shooter as a gang member with multiple arrests.
Charges against the man were still pending Monday morning, a police spokesperson told Patch.
