Sungmin Kwon, 23, stopped inside the 7-Eleven that evening to pick up popcorn when he heard the man go on a tirade blaming Asians for the coronavirus pandemic, he wrote in a Facebook post about the incident.

After Kwon confronted the man, then started recording, the man called him an anti-Asian slur and pushed him to the ground.

He posted the video on Facebook, where it has since been shared hundreds of times.

"I put the video up because I wanted to send the message of how disgusting racism is, and it's still alive and well no matter where you are," Kwon said . "I want racists to think twice before verbally and physically assaulting an individual.”
