Michaels Store In Fresh Meadows To Shutter In February

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — The Michaels store in Fresh Meadow is slated to close its doors next month, according to a company spokesperson.

The store was located at 187-04 Horace Harding Expressway, and it’s scheduled to close on Feb. 23.

“We know this is disappointing to our customers in Queens, but we hope to continue to serve them at our other locations in New York City or online at Michaels.com,” a company spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the company opens and closes stores every year "as a normal course of business."

The retail chain specializing in art and hobby supplies closed its Upper West Side location in Jan. 2021.

Other Michaels can be found in Woodside, in Queens, Chelsea, in Manhattan, East New York, and Boerum Hill, in Brooklyn.

Michaels did not immediately respond to Patch's request for more details about how many employees the closing will affect.
