Moviegoers Beaten, Robbed After Spat At Northeast Queens Cinema: NYPD

QUEENS, NY — A night out at the movies turned violent when two women were beaten up and robbed after getting into a mid-film spat in northeast Queens, police said Wednesday.

Two women were watching a film at the College Point Multiplex Cinema on July 5 about 7 p.m. July 5 when an argument broke out with four other moviegoers, police said.

The foursome followed the women outside the theater, on the Whitestone Expressway near Ulmer Street, when the movie ended and then attacked, police said.

One woman, 33, was kicked in the head and the second, 29, was punched in the face, according to the NYPD.

The attackers also stole one woman's phone, police said.

First responders rushed the 33-year-old to the hospital with head injuries, which were non-life threatening, according to the NYPD.

The other woman suffered minor injuries and wasn't hospitalized, police said.

The attackers, meanwhile, ran away from the theater and had yet to be arrested nearly a month later, according to police.
