DOUGLASTON, QUEENS — Neighbors of the Douglaston Golf Course say wayward golf balls have been flying right into their yards ever since the course reopened earlier this summer, according to a news report.

Gina Stoner, who lives across from the city-owned golf course, told NY1 that golf balls have smacked right into her front window twice and have put holes in her fence.

Stoner told NY1 she paid thousands of dollars to repair the damage she has incurred living by the 18th green — the course's longest hole, meaning golfers swing even harder.

“The golf balls come over with such velocity,” she told NY1.

Stoner's neighbors have also experienced smashed windows from errant golf balls, NY1 reported.

The city's parks department installed netting by the hole six years ago but is now working on a plan to extend the length of the netting, according to NY1.
