Coronavirus Testing Sites Open At Northeast Queens Schools

Three schools in Northeast Queens will offer walk-in coronavirus testing Monday and Tuesday, thanks to NYC Health + Hospitals.

QUEENS, NY — The city's hospital system is offering additional coronavirus testing sites at three schools in Northeast Queens.

Francis Lewis High School, Martin Van Buren High School and The Queens High School of Teaching, Liberal Arts and the Sciences will offer coronavirus testing Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on a walk-in basis, according to NYC Health + Hospitals.

The schools are part of a network of temporary school-based testing sites that have opened in Queens, as officials brace for an anticipated surge in COVID-19 cases related to Thanksgiving.

Other new sites in the borough include August Martin High School, John Adams High School and the High School For Law Enforcement And Public Safety.

Travelers to New York who were out of state for more than 24 hours are required to quarantine for 14 days, unless they were only in a state that borders New York, according to state Department of Health guidelines.

They can "test out" of the quarantine period if they get tested within three days of coming to New York, quarantine for three days, then get another coronavirus test on the fourth day. Both tests must be negative.
