Patch Pets: Linus and Hershey

An adorable American Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix and a lovable Beagle/Lab/Pitty up for adoption

Our two Patch Pets this week come by way of the Queens/Nassau County animal rescue organization, Bobbi and the Strays. Led by Roberta "Bobbi" Giordano since 1998, the group provides a valuable service for animal-lovers everywhere — particularly within the city, which is currently devoid of "non-kill" shelters.

First up is Linus, a particularly handsome Terrier/Lab mix puppy with a carmel-colored coat, all of his shots and housebroken. While Linus will be a big dog when he grows up (61-100 lbs.), if his terrier side is any indication, will be a playful pet well into his adult years.

Next up is Hershey, a Beagle/Lab/Pitty mix that has been with Bobbi and the Strays for three years. "He's particularly dear to us," Giordano said this afternoon.

Hershey's shots are all up to date.

Bobbi and the Strays operate two shelters at 71-03 80th St. in Glendale and at 2 Rider Place in Freeport. For more info on these and other pets up for adoption, email adopt@bobbicares.org
