Popeyes To Open In Auburndale At Former Boston Market Location
The new Northern Boulevard site will be Popeyes' first spot in Auburndale, and its closest location to most parts of Bayside, too.

AUBURNDALE, QUEENS — A former fast-casual chicken restaurant on the border of Bayside is slated to reopen as a fried chicken joint.
Popeyes is planning to open an Auburndale location at 171-50 Northern Boulevard at the site of a Boston Market restaurant that's been closed since 2019, Department of Building permits show.
As of Sept. 24, the soon-to-be Popeyes is still undergoing renovations, which began this summer according to DOB permits. The chain did not respond to Patch with a definitive opening date, yet.

In other parts of the borough, locals have been outraged to learn about restaurant chain openings as of late, but Baysiders appeared excited to hear about the new Popeyes.
A Facebook post in a neighborhood group garnered over 75 "likes" and 50 comments, many of which were positive.

"The best news ever!! Love love Popeye's!" wrote one. Another, who said they never comment on neighborhood threads, described the opening as "good news."
Many others said that they can't wait to eat the chain's food, including its famed biscuits and chicken sandwich.
Popeyes currently operates over 15 other chain restaurants in Queens.
This new Northern Boulevard outpost, however, will be the chain's first location in Auburndale, and the closest Popeyes to most parts of Bayside, too.
