Queens Drivers Find Parking Faster Than Other NYC Drivers: Study
Queens drivers bemoan the difficulty of finding parking, but a new survey suggests they have it easier than drivers in the other boroughs.
QUEENS, NY — Drivers in Queens may bemoan the difficulty of finding a parking spot, but a recent survey suggests they have it easier than drivers in other boroughs.
Queens drivers spend an average of 17 minutes looking for public parking, compared to an average of 21 minutes for drivers in Brooklyn and Manhattan, according to a Zipcar survey released Tuesday.
Only Staten Island drivers reported shorter searches, with the hunt for parking taking them about 16 minutes, the survey found.

For the survey, Zipcar partnered with Hanover Research to question 796 New York City car owners about their driving habits.
Nearly all of the drivers who took part in the survey said it's stressful to find public parking in New York City, and reported spending as much as two hours looking for a spot.

Queens drivers who instead opt to pay for a private parking space reported spending an average of $67 a month, compared to a whopping $248 monthly cost in Manhattan, according to the survey.
