FLORAL PARK, QUEENS — Calling all farmers and gardeners, all bakers and jam makers: Registration opens Friday for the Queens County Farm Museum's annual Blue Ribbon Competition.

Competitors can choose from more than 60 categories to vie for a "Best in Show" title at the 37th Annual Queens County Fair in September. Among the most popular contests are quilting, pottery, cakes, pies and pickles.

"I always think ‘pie’ when I think about this competition, but there is so much more from the obscure to the obvious and everything in between," Jennifer Walden Weprin, executive director of the Queens County Farm Museum, said. "It’s a real celebration of art and culture."
