Queens Ranked Sixth Most Expensive Place to Live in U.S.

Manhattan ranks first, while Brooklyn places second in Council for Community and Economic Research's study.

Queens has ranked as the sixth most expensive place to live in the United States, according to a new study by the Council for Community and Economic Research.

To create the index, the council measured the cost of the professional standard of living in 307 urban areas, Yahoo News reports.

The council crunched more than 50,000 prices – everything from home prices to the cost of gas to the average cost of a bottle of wine – and found that the borough of Queens consistently ranked amongst the most expensive in the country.
