Reader Comment of the Week
This week's comments came from stories on an endorsement in the race for Halloran's seat and a smoking ban for parks being overturned.

Every Sunday, Bayside Douglaston Patch will post a roundup of the week's best comments from our readers.
This week's comments came from two stories - one on Democrat Paul Graziano endorsing Republican Dennis Saffran, rather than Paul Vallone, for Councilman Dan Halloran's seat and another on a smoking ban in city parks being overturned.
In the comment section of the former story, a reader known as Flushing Skeptic wrote, "While I understand Paul's attitude about the Jobs for New York mailings, I am deeply disappointed that he has crossed party lines. I don't want another Republican in the Council."
On Patch's Facebook page, the conversation about the story continued.
Reader Peggy Dabraccio wrote, "I want specifics as to how Mr. Saffran plans to address overdevelopment," to which reader Arlene Sierant Cusumano replied, "Well, to start with, he won't be taking contributions from or lobbying for developers."
In the smoking ban story, reader Phil Konigsberg wrote "If New York State Parks does not elect to appeal, I will approach both my state representatives and request that they introduce legislation in their respective houses to reinstate smoke-free parks and beaches throughout the state of New York, only I will seek that the enabling legislation be inclusive of all state park property similar to NYC legislation."
