Republican George Santos' Large Campaign Contributions Flagged By FEC
The FEC flagged contributions accepted by Santos's political committee, which received three $25,000 contributions.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Representative-elect George Santos accepted contributions surpassing the limit set forth for federal election activities, according to the Federal Election Commission.
The FEC flagged contributions accepted by Santos’s political committee, which received three $25,000 contributions from Matthew Bruderman, Jeff Vacirca, and Todd O'Connell and an additional grand from Bruderman.
“If any contribution you received exceeds the limits, you may have to refund the excessive amount,” reads a statement by Sarah Vivian, senior campaign finance and reviewing analyst at the FEC.

The letter comes at a tumultuous time for Santos, who’s facing public scrutiny after a report accused the 34-year-old of faking his resume and lying about his finances.
Nassau County District Attorney’s office and the Eastern District U.S. attorney's office opened investigations looking into Santos’s finances and congressional filings, as well as possible illegal campaign funding.

Questions also remain about the Republican’s financial filings, and a $700,000 loan Santos made to his own campaign.
The Queens district attorney's office is also looking into potential criminal offenses, a spokesperson told ABC 7 News.
Since the accusations against Santos, he has admitted that he fibbed about his work and education history while he campaigned for the seat in the 3rd District.
