Taxi Crashes On Long Island Expressway In Bayside

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — One person suffered minor injuries after a taxi and another car crashed on the Long Island Expressway Tuesday morning, according to police and traffic camera footage.

The crash happened about 9:30 a.m. on the LIE near Springfield Boulevard, police and fire officials said, and brought eastbound traffic to a crawl.

One of the cab's doors broke off the vehicle and fell to the ground, traffic cameras show.

First responders brought the victim to North Shore University Hospital.
