These Are Bayside's Worst Intersections For Pedestrians, Cops Say
Pedestrians have been hit more than two dozen times at Bayside's most dangerous intersections in the last three years, according to police.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Pedestrians have been hit more than two dozen times at Bayside's most dangerous intersections in the last three years, police said.
The worst intersections for pedestrian crashes in that time period were at the Horace Harding Expressway and Springfield Boulevard, Francis Lewis and Northern Boulevards, and Bell and Northern Boulevards, according to the NYPD's 111th Precinct.
Those spots accounted for 27 pedestrian crashes in the last three years.

Precinct officers reported the data in an effort to get drivers to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians when turning.
Failing to yield to pedestrians is one of the driving violations that is most likely to injure or kill New Yorkers, according to QNS.com.
