Gas prices across the region try a new direction — down
It's about time.
After weeks of seemingly unrelentless increases at the gas pump, prices began to slide back in recent days, with average gas prices across the New York metro area at $4.28, down a fraction of a cent from a week ago, according to the American Automobile Association.
Yes, that's right: a fraction of a cent. Hey, at least it's in the right direction.

Cash customers might want to head to the Getty on Northern, where regular gas is fetching an unheard-of (at least in the past few weeks) $4.19 a gallon. Debit and credit carrying motorists will get the best deal at the BP station on Horace Harding.
