Transformer Fire On Northern Blvd. Slows Traffic

A transformer fire billowing smoke out from cracks in the pavement has slowed traffic on Northern Blvd.

The fire, which emergency vehicles responded to around 4:42p.m. on Monday, is burning directly in front of , between 214th and 215th Streets.

FDNY officers on the scene provided no further information. One lane of Long Island-bound traffic remained open around the closed off area.
