Update: After School Programs, PSAL Games Being Held Today
City Schools Stay Open, But Field Trips Cancelled
Update, 8:48 a.m.: New York City's after-school programs and PSAL will continue as scheduled, but school field trips have been cancelled for the day.
New York City public schools will remain open today, Jan. 12, the city Department of Education announced shortly after 5 a.m.
New York City schools have closed six times since 1978, for a total of eight snow days.
