WATCH: Thief Steals $3K Moneybag From Car In Douglaston
Police are searching for the brazen thief who was caught on video breaking into the car in broad daylight.

DOUGLASTON, QUEENS -- Police are searching for a brazen thief who was caught on on camera stealing $3,000 in broad daylight from a car parked outside a Douglaston eatery.
The unknown man broke into the car in the parking lot behind Mizumi, an Asian buffet at 23-10 Northern Blvd., at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, authorities said. Once inside, he allegedly took a bag filled with $3,000 cash.
The NYPD's 111th precinct tweeted a video of the theft early Tuesday morning, warning residents to lock their doors.

The 30-second clip shows the suspect open what appears to be an unlocked door on the car's passenger side. He disappears from view for several seconds before walking away with a bag in hand.
The suspect was last seen leaving the parking lot in a black cap, fleece, pants and Converse tennis shoes.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information on the theft to call their Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477).
