The weekend is almost here, so let’s take a look at some of the events taking place around your community between Friday and Sunday.

Friday – Happy Hour

Shoot some pool and have some half-priced drinks along with free appetizers, just not all at the same time. Those specials only apply if you’re seated at the bar. Drop by Cue Bar between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to take advantage of happy hour.

Saturday – Veranda Restaurant & Cafe

Whether you sit outdoors or in, go for brunch, lunch or dinner, you’ll find the Mediterranean cuisine and artistic layout of all that you order a refreshing part of a hot summer Saturday. Open until 11 p.m., Veranda does take reservations.

Sunday – Historic New York: Fort Totten

A great outing for the kids, this activity will provide educational value in an interactive way. Urban Park Rangers will not only guide you through Fort Totten, but will provide tidbits of information you and the kids may not know. Meet at the Fort Totten Visitor’s Center at 1 p.m.
