White Castle Confirms Bayside Location Is Under Renovation

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Despite a rumor running around about Bayside’s White Castle location closing, the fast-food chain confirmed it is under renovation.

A spokesperson for White Castle told Patch that the location at 213-17 Northern Boulevard, which opened in 1932, is remodeling.

The interior and exterior renovation process will take eight to 12 weeks to complete, but the location will be open throughout the process.

“Investing in our Bayside Castle is a labor of love for our family-owned business," Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle, told Patch. "We’ve served generations of customers here since we first opened our doors on this corner in 1932."

Several people flocked to Facebook to ask whether the burger chain was shutting down, and others made their own assumptions about what restaurant would replace the White Castle.

Other commenters reminisced about their nights at the location after the thought of it closing.
