Residents mull options as precious metal hits $1,500 an ounce
Due to recent concerns over a downgrade in the outlook on U.S. government debt, the price of an ounce of gold hit the $1,500 mark for the first time Monday. And with gold trading at $1,505.70 as of noon Wednesday, the price of one of the world's oldest valuable commodities looked to rise even further.
So with a healthy dose of curiosity and armed with a video camera, Little Neck Patch asked local residents one question: "Would the skyrocketing price of gold tempt you to sell your unused jewelry?"
