Would You Take a Trolley To Bay Terrace Shopping Center?

Yesterday that Bay Terrace resident is trying to bring some kind of shuttle—perhaps even a trolley—to the neighborhood.

The privately operated vehicle would bring people from the Bay Terrace co-ops to the, where it would make several stops. Operational funds, according to Konigsberg, would likely come either from rider fares, or advertising.

The owners of the Shopping Center grounds, Cord Meyer, stress that the idea is still in its conception stages, and is far from being given a green light. But it is being explored from all angles, such as expense and liability.

The company is also checking with its tenants, the businesses at Bay Terrace, to gage their response.

As per the necessity of a shuttle service—be it via mini bus, tram or trolley—  spokesman for the company, Peter Galletta, seemed to be of dual minds.

"There is plenty of parking in Bay Terrace," Galletta said, adding that on the other hand, "it could help some seniors come out."
