BED-STUY, NY — Owners plan to transform a 1-story commercial building in Bed-Stuy into a five-story building partially reserved as a community space, building records show.
The proposed property, first reported by New York YIMBY, sits on Walworth Street between Park and Myrtle avenues.
Plans filed with the city's Buildings department show dreams of a 62-foot-tall building — much taller than adjacent buildings. The construction will include vertical enlargement and interior renovations, records show.

The building will be nearly half community facility and half commercial space, all totaling 9,646 square feet, property records show.
The construction will also include 10 parking spaces. The building will be designed by architect Amr Ouda, and the owner listed on construction applications is Mordechai Retek representing Jacob Hart LLC.
