2 Affordable Housing Lotteries Open In Bed Stuy
Lotteries recently opened for 137 affordable units in Bed Stuy including studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.
BED STUY, NY — Lotteries opened this week for 127 affordable housing units in Bed Stuy, including studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments.
The Atrium
In Sumner Avenue Houses, the lottery for 99 units for seniors opened and is scheduled to close on June 1. The lottery includes 79 studios and 20 one-bedroom apartments on Marcus Garvey Boulevard near Park Avenue.
The Atrium is reserved for residents 62 years and older with household income under $46,700 for one person or $53,400 for two people. Only the head of household or one spouse must meet the age requirement.

Three people would need to make under $60,050 per year. Tenants will be expected to pay 30 percent of their income, according to NYC Housing Connect.
33 percent of units will be reserved for NYCHA residents, five percent for residents with mobility issues and two percent for residents with vision and hearing issues, according to NYC Housing Connect.

The Atrium has a number of shared amenities, including a gym, laundry room, media room, senior center, indoor garden and atrium and elderly care services.
963 Atlantic Avenue
An apartment building located at 963 Atlantic Avenue opened the lottery for 38 units including 8 studios, 23 one-bedrooms and seven two-bedrooms. Lottery applications will remain open until May 31.
The apartments cost between $1,576 for a studio and $2,850 for a two-bedroom, with varying annual household income requirements as low as $58,115 for one person. For a more detailed breakdown of income requirements, visit this link.
Some 50 percent of the units will be reserved for Community Board 2 residents, or residents in Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Dumbo, Fulton Ferry, Vinegar Hill, Forge Green, Clinton Hill and Brooklyn Navy Yard.
An additional five percent for NYC employees. Five percent of apartments were set aside for residents with mobility issues and two percent for those with vision and hearing issues.
The pet-friendly apartment complex features covered parking with assigned spaces, bike storage, dishwashers in unit and shared laundry rooms, patios and balconies, wifi, a shared gym and party room, children's playroom and package lockers.
