1.  Calling all Bed-Stuy residents and volunteers: Starting today, May 19, the creation of Hattie Carthan's new Herban Farm is happening, and they need all hands to help out with digging and clearing a plot for the garden. 4.  “Malcom X Day: Remembering El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz” at the Macon Library, 361 Lewis Avenue, Brooklyn, Thursday, May 19, from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm. Come participate in a full day of activities and programs honoring Malcolm X.

5.  Prison to Community Fair on Thursday, May 19, at the Multi-Service Center 1958 Fulton Street. This is a free workshop event to assist the NYC formerly incarcerated successfully reintegrate back into their communities. Moderated by Dr. Divine Pryor; Panelist Vanda Seward of the Department of Correction and Community Supervision. Also joining the event will be faith-based leaders, Fortune Society and other special guests. This event is brought to the community in partnership with the NAACP Brooklyn Branch, the 79th Precinct Community Council, Community Board 3, District Attorney Charles Hynes and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
