7-Story Residential Building On Its Way To Bedford Avenue: Report
Permits have been filed to build the development on the corner of Bedford Avenue and Fulton Street, according to records and reports.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A new seven-story building is on its way to the corner of Bedford Avenue and Fulton Street, according to reports and records.
Permits were recently filed to build a 74-foot-tall mixed-use building at 1241 Bedford Ave., New York YIMBY first reported.
The building will bring 23 residences and 3,756 square feet of commercial space to the 4,710-square-foot lot, which currently houses a three-story building. An application to demolish the existing building was filed in April, records show.

Genaro Urueta are listed as the architects.
Though not directly on Fulton Street, the building is among a long list of new developments on and around the main corridor.
Earlier this year, the local Business Improvement District found that a spike in the vacancy rate for storefronts along Fulton Street was due to a slew of new construction in the area.
The surge of new development, and thus new retail space, has been on the BID's radar for years. A 2018 report by the BID noted that new businesses were likely as an estimated 1,100 new residential units would be added to the corridor by 2020.
Other hotspots for the new development include near Franklin, Kingston, Albany and Troy avenues.
