9-Story Building, 50 Residential Units Planned For Bed-Stuy

Property records show a new building planned for Park Avenue in Brooklyn will have residential and commercial space.

BED-STUY, NY — A 9-story development planned for Bed-Stuy was expected to include 50 residential units — nine of which would be income-restricted, property records show.

Permits recently filed for the development on Park Avenue near Marcus Garvey Boulevard show a mixed-use commercial and residential building totaling 45,812-square-feet. New York YIMBY first reported on the development.

Commercial space would occupy 6,999-square-feet of the property and residential units would take up the majority, totaling 38,813-square-feet, property records show. The development would also have parking spaces.

At 90 feet tall, the building would be the tallest in its immediate area by about 15 feet.

Permits list JFA Architects as the building's designers — the firm responsible for dozens of apartment buildings across New York City and a massive proposed synagogue in the center of Brooklyn.

Owner Bruchy Lefkowitz was also responsible for a Vinegar Hill mixed-use property, New York YIMBY reported.
