'Affordable' Apartments Available In Bed-Stuy, Require 65K Salary
Nine apartments split across two separate buildings in the neighborhood are on the city's affordable housing lottery.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Apartments in two buildings in Bed-Stuy have hit the city's affordable housing lottery, but only for those making at least $65,000 a year, records show.
The nine apartments, found in buildings on Marcy and Dekalb avenues, will go to those making at least 130 percent of the area median income.
In the Marcy Avenue building, found at 633 Marcy Ave., that means applicants should make at least $66,858 per year, according to the listing. The building has three one-bedroom units and three two-bedroom spots up for grabs.

The one-bedroom units will cost $1,950 per month and the two-bedroom apartments cost $2,400 per month, according to the listing.
The building is pet-friendly and includes bike storage lockers, a shared laundry room, a gym, a yoga/dance studio and an elevator.

On Dekalb Avenue, there are three one-bedroom spots up for grabs. The building is found at 922 Dekalb Ave. and includes a shared laundry room and an elevator.
Applicants for this building should make at least $65,143 per year. The one-bedroom apartments will cost $1,900 per month, the listing shows.
The two buildings join several other Bed-Stuy-area buildings on the affordable housing lottery, including one on Fulton Street, another on Gates Avenue and one on Quincy Street, where applicants should make at least $83,349 per year to apply.
There are also more than 200 apartments up for grabs in Caton Flats, which was built at the former Flatbush Caton Marketproperty on the Flatbush and Prospect Lefferts Gardens border.
Those apartments will go to those making as little as $22,000 per year.
