'Affordable' Apartments In Bed-Stuy Require $72K Salary
The seven units on Gates Avenue hit the affordable housing lottery this week, listings show.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Several apartments in Bed-Stuy have hit the affordable housing lottery, but only for those making at least $72,000 per year, records show.
The seven studio and two-bedroom spots are found in a building at 325 Gates Ave., which returned to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development lottery page this week with "units still available," according to the listing.
The apartments will go to those making 130 percent of the area median income, or at least $72,138 for the studio spots or a combined $92,298 for the two-bedroom units. The two-bedroom spots require at least two people apply.

The studio units will cost $2,104 per month and the two-bedroom will go for $2,692 rent.
The building is pet-friendly and includes assigned parking spaces, a gym, a recreation room, a rooftop terrace and security cameras, according to the listing.

It joins another Bed-Stuy building on the affordable housing lottery on Quincy Street, where applicants should make at least $83,349 per year to apply.
There are also more than 200 apartments up for grabs in Caton Flats, which was built at the former Flatbush Caton Market property on the Flatbush and Prospect Lefferts Gardens border.
Those apartments will go to those making as little as $22,000 per year.
