BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — All it takes to rent an affordable apartment in Bed-Stuy is a six-figure income.

Ten "affordable" two-bedroom units hit the market this month at 180 Throop Ave. and are up for grabs to anyone earning between $111,429 and $187,330, a new listing shows.

The brand new building was built through the 421-a tax-break program intended to encourage the construction of affordable housing.

While these new units come with all new "high-end" finishings and appliances, as well as air-conditioning and a patio or balcony, "affordable" housing-seekers should prepare themselves to shell out $3,250 a month.

Renderings from BEAM Archictects show a modern lobby, bathroom and kitchen, but details about the layout are scant.

Apartments at 180 Throop Ave. are far pricier than other two and three-bedroom units available in Bed-Stuy, and Williamsburg on StreetEasy.

At 159 Ellery St., just around the corner, a newly renovated three-bedroom, no-fee unit with central air-conditioning (and what seems to be a lone picnic table on the roof), is listed at $2,990 per month.

For renters meeting the income eligibility, it looks like there are no shortage of apartments within their budget.
