The open units will require locals to make 130 percent of the area median income, or at least $80,572 per year.

BED-STUY, NY — A new affordable housing development in Bed-Stuy will ask renters to make 130 percent of the area median income, or at least $80,572 per year to rent.
Six units recently hit the city's affordable housing lottery in the property on Marcus Garvey Boulevard between Fulton and Decatur Streets, and they will all require the 130 percent benchmark.
Applicants for the one-bedroom apartments — which the lottery system will allow to house up to three people — will be capped at a $128,570 salary, while three applicants can apply with up to $165,230.
