Affordable Housing Lottery Opens For First-Time Buyers In Bed-Stuy
Houses in Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights hit the affordable housing lottery for buyers making as little as 90 percent of area median income.

BED-STUY, NY — Some 11 houses in Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights are available on the city's affordable housing lottery for residents making as low as 90 percent of area median income.
The houses are specifically earmarked for first-time buyers, according to Brownstoner.
The homes — which sit between Kingston and Throop Avenues, Eastern Parkway, Bushwick Avenue and Myrtle Avenue — range from two- to three-bedroom homes with between two and five bathrooms, the city's Housing Connect portal shows.

The most affordable of the homes is a three-bedroom on Bergen Street near Rochester Avenue asking applying households to make between $104,500 and $157,590. The home is expected to sell for $653,800 with a five percent down payment.
On the higher end is a three-bedroom on Willoughby Avenue near Stuyvesant Avenue, which is expected to sell for $939,099. Applicants are expected to make between $159,100 and $227,630 in household income to apply.

On Hancock Street near Patchen Avenue, a two-bedroom home requires applicants to make between $131,500 and $198,250. The house is expected to sell for $785,600.
