Announcement: Tree Giveaway This Weekend in Bed-Stuy

Bedford-Stuyvesant's tree stock has been devastated over the last year by tornadoes and extreme winter weather. To help restore the neighborhood back to a more greener, plusher and more environmentally sound state, Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation will celebrate Earth Day with a free tree giveaway!

The event is in partnership with the New York Restoration Project, MillionTreesNYC and also through the generous support of Bloomberg Philanthropies and David Rockefeller. Together, these organizations will gladly distribute 130 trees to residents of Central Brooklyn and beyond. First-come/first-served.

What: Free Tree Giveaway

When:  April 23, 2011 at 1-3pm  (Rain or Shine)

Where: Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11216

Please note that trees are intended for planting on private property and cannot be planted on rooftops, terraces, along streets or in city parks.
