The building is the second residential tower proposed on the block this year, and one of several new developments to a rapidly-changing stretch on the Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights border.

The other building proposed on the Classon and Franklin avenues block, which would also be 17-stories, is awaiting its final stage of review with the City Council. That development, found at 1045 Atlantic Ave, requires a zoning change and would bring 426 apartments, 126 of which would be designated as affordable, and a mix of retail and office space.
