Bed-Stuy Among NYC's Renter Hot-Spots: Report
Renters searched for Bed-Stuy apartments more than any other Brooklyn neighborhood in the early months of 2023.
BED-STUY, NY — Bed-Stuy's popularity with renters has grown over the past year, landing it in the top 5 most desirable spots in NYC, according to a new study from RentHop.
The rental search engine found that Bed-Stuy was the fourth most searched neighborhood in NYC in the first three months of 2023, trailing behind Astoria, the Upper East Side and the East Village.
Bed-Stuy's popularity soared over the last year — in 2022, it was the 12th most searched neighborhood, according to RentHop. And the trend held true across much of northern Brooklyn, with Williamsburg, Bushwick and Greenpoint all growing in popularity.

More central, Prospect Heights' popularity waned, dropping from the 40th most searched neighborhood to the 45th. Tribeca took the biggest drop to land in the 22nd spot.
Crown Heights grew in popularity to take the 32 spot on the popularity ranking — within Brooklyn, Crown Heights was the fifth most popular neighborhood.

The rise in popularity is not without consequence. Bed-Stuy's rental prices also increased year-over-year with median one-bedroom prices hitting $2,846 per month, according to RentHop. The median two-bedroom sat at $3,133 in June 2023.
